This is an imaginative write-up of Version 2.0 of Sandheep Kumar and is written as part of an assignment in the “Digital Marketing Internship” by Digital Deepak. This is written as if a full page write up is written in the METRO PLUS supplementary of The Hindu by a reporter.

Vision of Sandheep Kumar, Chairman of BASSH Group of Companies which is estimated to be worth around $500 million dollar (Rs. 3250 crores) is that he wants to create one million Jobs by 2040 and lift at least 10 million people out of poverty. He believes that Charity is no solution to Poverty, as quoted by Mohammed Yunus. He figured out that Entrepreneurship is the only way to achieve his vision.

Just as the saying goes, “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime”, for the past seven years, he has been scaling his existing businesses and venturing into new domains by creating leaders who manage the businesses for him. In the year 2018, he started his first venture, Anveshana Clothing a unisex custom made casual clothing brand along with his wife. For two years they had been operating online and in 2021, they opened their first experience centre in Coimbatore. While rapidly scaling up their online presence, their offline presence started to take a strong foothold and every three months they opened a new outlet in every potential city, partnering with an Entrepreneurial woman in that particular city. As on date, they have 30+ such outlets that are present all over India and has presence abroad as well. His wife, Akshitha Vasuki heads the complete business.

Sandheep has a nature of sensing opportunities and making use of them. He started BASSH Exports and in the year 2022, they started exporting sustainable apparels and products. They have a strong presence in the European region. He believes that “Made in India” should become popular compared to “Made in China”. As they started to develop better business connections, they diversified to multiple products and in the year 2024, they became a Star Exporter, dealing in agricultural products, Pharmaceuticals, engineering goods.

In the year 2025, they set up a 10 member core R&D team hiring top minds from IIT & IIM. Their only work is to work on Innovation and keep presenting the management with the new innovative products to work on. In the year 2026, the group had come up with few ground breaking innovations in health care segment and the group has become a monopoly for such product in the entire world holding the patent. Sandheep always India to be a front runner in the aspects of technology and be self-reliant.

In the year 2027, Sandheep was invited by the Government of Tamilnadu to chair a special committee that oversees the development of villages to world class amenities. In a span of one year, he has transformed about 10 villages to have world class amenities such as schools, mini IT parks, etc., In the year 2028 he is currently being invited to be the CEO of Niti Aayog, and presently serves as Chairman for Innovation at FICCI and CII.

Sandheep invests about 25% of their group’s profit into promising startups that create ground breaking innovations through BASSH Angel Fund. Having been operational for past two years, they have already funded close to 20 startups and 3 of them already are being valued over $100Mn.

For Sandheep, his family means everything. His parents sacrificed a lot and worked hard to give him and his sister a comfortable life. In the year 2028, he sent his parents on a 6 month world tour and they are currently touring in Australia. He has to wait for another couple of months to see them back in India and he cannot wait to see their happy and contented faces.

He is also waiting for his son, Abhinav to come back from his summer American tour at NASA.

Once all his families re-unite, they are planning to take a break at their 1000 acre state of the art farm equipped with world class technologies.
